yellowfin web services questions

Postby administrator on Thu Oct 02, 2008 3:08 am

I would like to ask a few question about yellowfin web services.
I understand that yellowfin can call every report in the system using web services,

can you give us an example how the regular page can called a report to display in it.
We would really appreciate if you give us a jsp code example for it.

If we call the drill through or drill down report with this method,
Can we still do the drilling function in the page that we build.
And can this method call the co-display report.

Yes, you can call any report (that has been given a webservice name) using webservices.
Drill through, drill down and sorting can still work using this method.

I have attached an example. To work it will require that a report exists with a webservice name of "webreport2".
You can edit ws_report.jsp to change the name of the report you would like to load.

You may also need to edit ws_report.jsp to alter the location of the Yellowfin webservices.. Host / Port / User etc.

Unzip the webservice_example.zip into the ROOT directory.
You can then call the report from ws_report.jsp.

Webservices is documented in the Yellowfin Installation Guide.
